The  Berg River Marathon

The Berg River Marathon, an annual 239.1 km race, is the longest canoe race in South Africa and one of the most strenuous in the world. The event, which takes place from the 15th - 18th July 2009, attracts competitors from all over South Africa. Competitors and spectators follow the route along the Berg River from Paarl in the Winelands to Veldrif on the West Coast.
