We are well entrenched into 2009 and our calendar of events is growing daily! We started off our year wishing the Heineken® Cape to Bahia yachts bon voyage as they set sail on their 3330 nautical mile journey to Salvador da Bahia, where 100 ft UK entry ICAP Leopard took line honours to win the 2009 event.

This was followed by the Pick n Pay The Star Fast One and two of our traditional big sporting events, the J&B Met and the Cape Argus
Pick n Pay Cycle Tour
. The Cycle Tour , whilst trying for the participants amid extreme weather conditions, was a great success for Race4change, Pick n Pay's online charity fundraising platform that raised over R80 000.00!

Launched at the 2008 SA Open, Pick n Pay introduced a new concept in event public catering, the Pick n Pay Fresh Food Experience, which is now rolled out at various events. At these events Pick n Pay brings the same convenient quality and modern style found in its stores to the event public catering environment. These food areas are inspirational oases where visitors are able to enjoy a menu of tantilising produce and healthy food options . Activations have happened at events such as the Taste of Cape Town and St John's College Rugby Festival and will be a big feature at the upcoming Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival.

I do hope you can join us at some of our winter events listed below. Plan your holidays now to ensure a fun filled winter season!

Till next time
